Genuine Ametek Lamb Hi Performance Vacuum Cleaner Motor

Replaces the following part numbers : 117923, 117923-23, 7923-23, 115923, 5923-AA

This is a Hi Performance Motor with lots of suction power!

Note : Some original motors had a circular metal gasket flange protruding from the bottom of the fan housing.  The flange has a rubber gasket seated around it to provide sealed suction.  If your old motor has this metal flange, you will just need to do one of the following tweaks in order for this motor to work:

1.  For do it yourselfers who are handy with tools :  Using a hammer and medium to large flathead screwdriver, pop only the lower fan housing piece off both motors (they are friction fit, and can be removed if done evenly).  Install the original one (with the metal flange) on your new motor.  The best way to get the housing piece back on is by tapping on the outer edges with a rubber mallet (tapping any other place will dent the housing).   I received a message from a very satisfied customer who used this process.  Here is the message:

– replaced the fan cover with the old one = having rim to hold gasket (as you suggest)

I wired up the old speed control module attached to the side of the motor – you might include a note of encouragement saying it’s simple and works just fine. Amazingly, I didn’t have any “extra” parts after 1st reassembly! Good experience with a good product!   -mac

2.  For those less inclined to take a motor apart :  Glue your rubber gasket onto the new motor with some industrial glue, since the new motor does not have the metal gasket flange to hold the gasket in place.  The motors are identical other than the metal flange on the bottom of the fan housing.

Important Note : Please be sure the dimensions of your old motor match the dimensions of this one.
